Tips for mobile
- Use Wi-Fi for long videos – the upload is the slowest part.
- Keep the screen on and the browser open until the upload finishes.
- For TikTok, Reels and Shorts, record vertically (9:16) so the subtitles have room.
- Files up to 500 MB and 30 minutes are supported.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install an app?
No. HeyCaptions works in Safari, Chrome and other mobile browsers. You can add it to your home screen for quick access.
Why can’t I find the downloaded video on my iPhone?
Safari saves downloads to the Files app, in the Downloads folder. Open the file there, tap Share and choose Save Video to move it to Photos.
Does it use a lot of mobile data?
Your video is uploaded once and the finished video is downloaded once, so expect about twice the file size. Use Wi-Fi for long videos.
